Steps to make delicious Tandoori:
Chef's tip: For best results, cook as per the steps mentioned above.
- Combine chicken pieces with yogurt, ginger, garlic, lemon juice (optional), and Shahi Riwayat Tandoori Masala paste. Marinate for at least 30 minutes, or ideally overnight for the most flavorful chicken.
- Tandoori chicken doesn't use a fried onion paste. Instead, we'll focus on searing the chicken for a smoky char.
- Heat oil in a pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the marinated chicken pieces on all sides until golden brown. This should take about 10-15 minutes depending on the thickness of the chicken.
- Reduce heat to low and add a small amount of water or stock (around ¼ cup) to create a light sauce. You can also add a squeeze of lemon juice for extra tang. Simmer for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the juices run clear.
- You can garnish with chopped fresh cilantro and a squeeze of lemon juice before serving. For a touch of extra smokiness, broil the chicken for a few minutes at the end.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your flavorful Tandoori Chicken!
